A study conducted in 2014 found that, among 63 children ages 5 to 16 who slept with a weighted blanket and a non-weighted blanket, the overall preference was the weighted blanket. Additionally, two studies published in Occupational Therapy in 2008, reported that weighted blankets eased anxiety. Another study found the same thing in 2012.
