Mushrooms are a creature unlike any other. Many consider them to be the unattractive cousin of the plant kingdom, but once you start looking at their subspecies more closely, a mysterious, bordering on alien world appears.

Mushrooms are truly incredible little things. The part we see above the ground is just their means for reproducing. Massive structures underground connect mushrooms and some plants to form massive, impressive creatures. There’s one fungus, a honey mushroom colony, that takes up 2,000 acres in Oregon!
